Checking the Westboro Baptists off my bucket list

You may have seen the meme about living your life in such a way that the Westboro Baptist Church (correction: the Westboro UnChristian Hate Group) pickets your funeral. It looks like I won't have to wait that long! They are planning to grace the convention I'm attending next week in Ohio.

Later note: It has come to my attention that WBS thinks the name of the denomination is Unity Universalism. Oh, well. I'll wear my T-shirt so they can see the correct one.

This is the kind of stuff that gets us in trouble with the WBC.

"Among workshops offered at this year's assembly will be one on the Black Lives Matter movement and another on reproductive rights with Cecile Richards, president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Krista Tippett, host of the "On Being" public-radio show, will deliver a keynote lecture.

Thursday's State of Emergence Rally outside the Capitol building will feature the Rev. William Barber, leader of the Moral Mondays movement and president of the North Carolina chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and Alicia Garza, co-founder of Black Lives Matter. Christian, Jewish and Islamic leaders also will make remarks."
