Indian Films, my not-so-secret obsession
Two truly frightening facts about this list:
- I started watching Indian films in early October, 2015, with Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. (Frankly, it was to escape the anxiety and distress induced by the U.S. Presidential election.) That led me to more films with the stars: Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Kajol, Kareena Kapoor, and especially Shah Rukh Khan* (SRK). The next film I watched was Jab Tak Hai Jaan, which introduced me to Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma and the music of A.R. Rahman.
- Some of these I have watched more than once. Especially Om Shanti Om, which gives me a huge lift whenever I feel down.
* The starred movies feature Shah Rukh Khan. Yes, I have seen nearly all of his films, once in the order I could find them, then in chronological order. The films with + I have seen more than twice.)
It dawns on me that this list is woefully out of date. I have not added a title in four years, and for a while I was watching 2-3 movies a week. No, I do not plan to catch up.
